Interrail Austria pass works effectively if tourists wish to cover the entire country on the rail by providing unlimited travel for 3,4,5,6 or 8 consecutive days in a month.
Austrian rail also provides combined tickets wherein your rail travel can be combined with a ski pass in winter and local sights in summers.
There is also a sleeper rail connection from London to Austria via Amsterdam or Brussels and Cologne.
ROAD
Austria has a well-developed and well-maintained road network throughout central Europe making it easier for travelers to access any destination by car.
Austrians drive on the right side of the road and overtake on the left. Visitors would require an IDP (International Drivers Permit) to drive on Austrian roads.
Please be aware – that you need a “vignette” toll sticker to drive on Austria’s motorways and expressways. It is available at the border, at petrol stations, or online.
